As many of you know, I am promoting Bella Ciao as the song of our upcoming American Transformation (I won't use the word "revolution" because that tends to imply violence.)
We also need top level targets for that Transformation, beginning with a revised Constitution.
I am fearful of opening up the Constitution - because the nutz will try to turn it us into a theocracy along the lines of Iran. (You've seen the book/film Persepolis - if not, watch it tonight!!)
However, opening the Constitution is necessary - it needs a major tune up.
My general thoughts are to keep much, but massively shrink Article II (the Executive), eliminate lifetime SCOTUS/Fed judges, create an means for citizens to enforce the Constitution (e.g. emoluments and insurrection clauses), auto-sunset of power delegations, explicitly create a fourth branch - Administrative, give more independence to justice dept, clarify 2nd amendment, revive the two "privileges and/or immunities" clauses, fix the 25th amendment, add the ERA, etc.
